Cadbury has brought back a huge chocolate fan favourite after it discontinued the product nine years ago.

The chocolatier left its fans drooling at the thought of its much-loved Chocolate Coins making a comeback.

Back in 2014, Cadbury announced it was scrapping its festive favourite, sparking widespread outrage across the UK. An online petition was even launched to bring the popular sweet treat back to Christmas stockings.

The confectionery giant has now delighted fans by revealing its Chocolate Coins would be making a comeback, and they're available to buy across the country right away.

Katie Hill, Junior Brand Manager for Cadbury, said: “If you cast your mind back to 2014, you may remember that Cadbury caused disappointment across the nation, as we announced the sad discontinuation of our much-loved Chocolate Coins. We’ve listened to customer feedback and we’re thrilled to be able to finally announce we’ll be bringing back this beloved holiday treasure this year – a product which represents festive joy and delicious nostalgia for so many.”

The Chocolate Coins are available in a Festive Net for £1.99, or in a decorative Moneytin for £6.99.

Cadbury's Archivist Sarah Foden said it was a "joyous moment" to see the "national treasure" product coming back to supermarket shelves.

She said: "The nostalgia surrounding this iconic product is a testament to its timeless charm, and we're thrilled to bring back the joy and excitement it holds for the Christmas season.”

Cadbury is also partnering with the Trussell Trust for a fourth successive year. Across the festive season, Cadbury said it would be donating 100,000 treats to food banks in the Trussell Trust network, as well as making a financial donation to support the Trust’s longer-term mission of fighting hunger in the UK.
